My 1992 Clipper Cabrio

Post

Hi All

After the sad sale of my Oval Karmann Convertible, I picked up this lovely 1992 late Mk1 Auto Clipper Cabrio from a close family friends estate after he passed away sadly last year.

His wife felt I was the right person to take it on and care for it from now on, and I hope my friend is looking down from up there and approves…I'm sure he does!

We were both keen members of the Leicestershire and Warwickshire Owners club for many years  and used to visit many shows in a multitude of beetles and Golf's back in the day!…and the golf will get an outing to Stanford hall next year for sure, in his memory.

The car had stood for two years and spluttered on the drive home, due to old fuel and a dirty carb I suspect!…will get it stripped down and refurbed.. plus clean fuel lines and a service, but otherwise good!

Needs a few bits doing inc electric roof, motor spins but hydraulic reservoir empty and a line is leaking., rear crystal lights will be changed for standard ones and need an auto gearlever/handle if anyone has one?…as the aftermarket aluminum one is not to my taste,

otherwise a great car that will get plenty of attention and road use from now on!

see pics below (that's my MK4 R32 on the right;))
