GTI has an old Selca system the Clipper a Cobra, both are alarm/ immobilisers with the addition of microwave units which are great for when the roof is down - put a hand anywhere near the inside of the cars and you get blasted! Had to turn sensitivity down a bit because of cats getting on the roofs !!!!
Only problem ever had was when I trapped a wire and shorted it…damned thing went off whenever it felt like it !!

Oh, and our insurers INSIST that these be fitted…

Owning a Mk1 cabby is a vertical learning curve…

1989 Mk1 Clipper 1.8 automatic - Sadly now up for sale - medical issues dictate)

1999 (Nov) Passat S Saloon 1.9 TDI (AFN) - TUG 1 (Remap by CCC ( - **** …..change pants !!) with cruise control

2000 (Mar) Passat Sport Estate 1.9 TDI (ATJ) 5 speed automatic with Tiptronic - TUG 2 (Remap and cruise control by CCC)

My cabrio has a Clifford concept 4 or 500 G4 on it with a few add ons including the vibration/tilt trigger in the windscreen for when the roofs left down

Never had any problems with cliffords and had 3 now on different cars, very good alarms and deafening loud!!!!

As long as who ever fits and wires it up properly   any alarm/immobiliser is a worthwhile investment no matter what it costs to purchase
