How often do u get stopped by admiring onlookers??

Obviously not admiring my good looks, I have taken my MK1 out on a hand full of occasions and have had 3 people go out of there way to comment and ask questions.

One guy waited in his car he said until i got back so he could have a word.

I do find it funny how people comment on it.

Does anyone else get it much and what sort of things have you been asked (keep em clean)?

ive had a few in the cabby mainly after ive done em of the lights they hang out the window asking what it is i always say the same its a 1.8 golf  

well it is if you take away the turbo and extra valves :wink:

nowhere near as many as when I had my Alfa  :cry:

i never get looks when im in drivers seat..only notice when im in the passenger seat - which is rare.

I've had comments like want to swap for my polo something or orther etc for my golf but never any for me when im in it .

after over taking a chav on the ring road he caught up to me due to some red lights, and says wow.. thats fast.. is it a 1.3?

I find that old blokes want to come and have a chat about when they used to own one and it got thieved, so they warn me to put an alarm on it and dont go on the rough side of town!!! Which side is that nowadays???

I get loads, My car appeals to old people and young people so old geezers say thats in good nik for its age and young people always comment on the sound and looks, motorway ques are they best getting thumbs up ect, people nodding and smiling its quality i love it the missus hates it! lol  :roll:

i get a fair few about the car from both young and old,  but  street cred got shot down in flames today…i was  talking today to one of the women at work and she asked if now that i'm single will i be buying a newer car to pull in ,  instead of the old one ?

if the dog in yur avatar is yours get him to the local park.. bound to pull with him.. i take my dog out in the cab winning combo!!

i would love to han but i had to get rid of the dog and the car in the pic as an atempt to save the relationship, obviously it didn't work   i made sure the dog "murphy" went to a very good home( back with his mum and another dog )  wish i hadn't bothered trying…

We all make mistakes - i've been in your situation too and if i hadnt bothered trying things would be very different and lots of horrible things wouldnt have happened.. but let it make you stronger

i do miss going the walks, 3 miles in the morning and 5 miles on an evening , suprising how many other peple are out and about , not quite the same without a dog.
 so when you bringing your lab ? got some great walks, one follows a canal which just happens to have a nice pub along the way.

Maybe that could be a theme for a meet, bring your dog. :roll:

Slightly of subject, we have just had a vet bill for more
than my cars worth  8O  (black Labrador needing an op).

Lovely dogs (I have 2) but expensive to repair.

ive got two white german shepards insurance is my friend last vet bill was over 1k and all the vet did was a few tests ect then told me he was lonely hence the reason for two now

Try Halfords mate.  They may do a haynes manual on a 2001 Labby?!?  Save a bit of money :wink:
