Fastest time ever at Gti International

Just watched the fastest time ever at Gti International in 25 years and it was a Mk1 Golf!!
9.9seconds quarter mile.
Never had a time under 10seconds here before.

Nice, it was a toss up between that one and Paul Jordan's Scirrocco who'd get the first 9 at inters, we're still some way behind Europe though. This is the Golf to beat so far.

No, not me Woz - had some fun but crap runs, bonnet slipped its catch twice (held on the second thank goodness).
The last run was my best - but I was being careful with her as didn't want to break her before Germany !!

It will go quicker but I have a few issues to resolve first and combined with not wanting to break her yesterday, so no wheel spin off the line !!

The gear change under load was hard yesterday, on my best run I changed earlier (about 6000rpm) just to get a run in.

I have some teething problems with the engine as well, not boosting above 10 psi and using oil - all points towards the bores having too much clearance…

Ade, you got a link to your build? What engines in yours?

Mine is a 16V Lysholm - based on the Mk2 Golf Limited using BBM conversion bits, but I changed the G60 earlier this year to a Lysholm one.
