Compatible lowering kit?

Hi there guys…need a bit of help regarding what shocks and springs i need to buy for my car.

Its a golf citi 1.3 and im fairly sure i should get the shocks and springs for a mk1 and not a mk2… would their be any major differences? i have found a set on ebay brand new for £80 which are local to me so and help will be much appreciated!

Hi there mate,
you will need to buy a mk1 kit.
Only problem with the citi golf is that he front shocks are a complete unit where as the uk mk1 has insert shocks in the front and seprate outer sleeves. Check to see on your car if they have been changed yet? If they havnt you will need to find a set of outers first before you buy suspension. or just go coilovers..

you need to buy a complete front leg as the shock absorber cant be renewed as its welded in place,vw still do the complete legs with shock absorbers in them,70 quid each, the rest of the bits are mk1 normal,so its not too bad

i've just fitted the ones bert has link you to

after his expert recomendation

very good for the money, bit firmer than i thought but well happy, car handles like a dream now

you could also do with some new front top mount and bump stops

i also went to vw and got new rear top mounts only £15 of something like that
