CABRIO NO START AFTER SITTING... :(

i have an 89 cabrio and it won't start :(

Has been sitting hardly driven for many months…  was driven in july of this year , no problems.

Battery was dead so I topped it up and seemed to have good cranking power.. but engine wouldn't catch.

any easy things I can check / do  before towing to mechanic?

Whip the plugs out, clean them, remove dizzy cap give it a clean, make sure its not scored,
check rotor arm, prob just damp etc..

After that if no luck start checking for a spark etc, but if it started before its likely to be
something simple.

have you checked to see if theres a spark at the plugs?, is it carb or injection?, if its carb, undo the fuel pipe that goes into the carb and make sure theres fuel getting through, i had to do this on a rocco that wouldnt start, runs fine now, Was airlock in system

If the fuel has been in there a good while and there's not much of it would check its ok as fuel will go off over a good period of time.

spray over with damp start stuff ie over leads and dizzy cap check all wires to dizzy are connected ok and like every one else says whip out plugs and check for spark could be you have flooded it by now with all the trying
