Anybody seen Gerald? BDC 581Y - was MK1 GTI in Mars Red

Anybody know whats happeded to BDC 581Y (Gerald) - my 1982/1983 Mk1 GTI. Cheers Simon.

yes, had looked on there first, but could see Gerald. found a site for the dvla some time ago and  dont think it;s been scrapped, just think its off the road at the mo. S.

Dead and gone by the looks of it, sorry bud. The tax was last due for renewal in October 2004 - it wasn't renewed. Neither was it declared SORN. So in all likelihood it was scrapped.

dont you have to tell the dvla when you scap a car? S.

It may not be scrapped, it may have had a number plate change? DVLA website only recognises original plates wont come up on cherished transfers, you need the chassis number for a difinitive answer from DVLA

How do you get the chassis number if you don't own the car any more? Can you request it from VW if you know the vehicle registration number?
