aaarrrghhh. Damn & blast.
Had no heater fan the other day, so decided I'd investigate & fix.
Dropped the fuse board down for easy access & got drops of water out of it. :x
Shook it a bit & got more water. :x
Everything now works, but obviously my repair job on the windscreen leak didn't last long :x
I guess that'll teach me for being so happy with myself for fixing the leak with the silicon I had laying around, instead of going & buying the proper stuff that stays soft

Windscreens don't usually leak , i have always found the problem to be in the scuttle . Below the windscreen under the black plastic covers that hides the heater motor and wiper linkage , lurks rust and holes = water to fuze board .
Covering is sound proofing material , painted factory colour , any water over the years creeps under this , rusts , creates holes and creates a wet fuze box , carpets etc . Remove sound proof with hard scraper , treat rust and holes = dry car .

Yep, I found a bit of rot here, water gets trapped under that sound proofing, luckly got there before it would of got really bad.

On my cabby the other day there was a pool of water here (and I had wet carpets). Poked something down each drain rubber, instantly drained and now I no longer have a passenger foot spa - job done

I had the dash out & could see the water coming in & pooling just below the windscreen, above the fuse/relay board.
I could repeat it using a hose on the windscreen at passengers side.
I sealed behind the rubber with silicon & refitted the wind deflector, using more silicon, and the water stopped.
I'm guessing now the silicon had hardened, the water has found another route. I did read about some 3m stuff I should have used instead of silicon, that doesn't harden, and works better. :x

Get rid of the wind deflectors mate. I've got them and so far so good but have heard bad things.

There are rubber drain thingies in the scuttle pannel on each side (open the bonnet and look up the top near where the hinges are) which get blocked up with leaves/muck.
I live somewhere super leafy - and I have to unblock these every week
