Who will insure me?
Was looking at changing the Car, for a newer model a 1992, but Lancaster said it was not classic as not 25 years plus, so they would not cover it….
They contacted the undrewriters who would insure it for an extra £40.00, but limit it only to SDP and not commuting.
I use my Cabby as a summer car and just like my polo use it to drive work and back and out at the weekends.
It seems pointless insuring it just to drive on a Sunday.
Any reccomendations?
cheers

Mine is an 1988 at the moment and am with lancaster under a classic policy, but if I change to a 1992 then it will cost me slightly more, as they are saying the new car would not be classic as it'sunder 25 years old, I argued that mine currently is under 25 years old too, but they would only cover me for sdp and not commuting to work? I use the cabby all summer long to work and back etc, so seems pointless, just insuring it for sundays lol.

Its worth ringing round, whats cheap for one may not be the same for someone else.

I was with flux but they put my insurance up by 30% in a year????
It was £103.00 fully comp agreed etc etc. But they shot it up to £137.00 in one go.
Cannot remember what I paid with Lancaster off the top of my head, but it was obviously less.
seems silly to apply those restrictions.
Will have to shop around…
