Just bought my first ever Mk1 - a 1.6 GTI.
Wondered who to insure it with, so looked on here.

Saw much mention of FJ, so went on their website.  Fully comp, kept on driveway came to ?123 - no extra to add the wife.

'phoned 'em up, and it was even cheaper - ?109 fully comp! Bargain!  8)

I just tried them! ?284  8O unbelievable really

I went with Elephant.co.uk @ ?487 because The AA wanted ?1150!

next year I'll be definately changing to them! (should have listerned to Rich in the first place   )

I notice in the membership pack that went out that Footman James were mentioned in the insurance discount section, but no discount figure mentioned?

Anyone know what discount if any we get with FJ and what to ask for. I have just let my policy lapse as the car won't be fixed for a little while yet, but barring any better quotes I will probably renew with FJ so the discount would be handy.

I just got my insurance with FJ for ?367 garaged with and accident in July and one in Dec 04 (Not my loss) 6000 miles per annum.

Direct line quoted me ?700 with 5 years no claims (protected)

Last point the accident in July was with my beloved MG Midget, rolled it  value ?2200 insured with FJ. They settles my claim with cheque through door in 3 weeks (Full amount), so good price but also excellent service when things go wrong.

Worth spending your money with them  

Don't forget those agreed values and remember FJ includes breakdown cover too!

Are they good for second car cover? Will they take into account the NCB on my normal car?

Hi MK1si,

If you take out a FJ Classic Insurance NCD does not factor, it's a flat rate. Any accident etc can increase the premium. But that's it. The fact you have use of another car is also a nessecory and I think you need to be over 25.
