new to classic insurance
I am new to classic insurance, so I spent time reading through all the comments on this forum, and then made loads of online quote applications etc.
I am in West London, clean 20+ year licence, 2 minor no fault claims in the last 5 years, just bought a SORN'd Cabbie as a second car, and only have a drive, no garage.
So, here is what I found:
Peter Best and Footman James wouldn't quote as no garage
Adrian Flux webform wouldn't submit, just hung
The scrapers (MoneySupermarket, GoCompare, ComparetheMarket) all brought back Performance Direct as cheapest, around 230
Performance Direct quoted more directly than through the scrapers, around 300
Lancaster quoted around 300
Last I tried Heritage, and they came back with a quote under 200! That included extras I hadn't requested like agreed value, club track days, etc. Their website allows you to tinker with the quote easily, by amending the mileage limit, voluntary excess, commuting, etc without resubmitting all the other details.
My insurer for the Zafira (LV) wasn't competitive when I called them, so I went with Heritage last night, and the documents were emailed this morning, cover starts today!
Hope I never need to claim!
