insuring a mk1 20v turbo

just would like to know how you guy go about insuring your motors. If you remember i posted about a mk1 golf gti that i found in a garage. after 2 months of talking to the dvla i got the owners detail. i now have all the paper work for the car and now its time to put plans into action. Im gonna s3 the mk1. but just would like to no how u go about getting insurance with a car like that. and is it still classed as a classic as it will be a summer toy?????

I dont think there is a definative answer to that. Insurance companies that i have spoke to have all had different requirements and policies.  You really need to call a few insurers because as helpful as club members are unless someone works at a brokers we wont know all the answers.

Mk1GTi
Rallye Golf
