I pay ?3000 insurance

i got the car when i was 19 now 20 and not 21 til next july.
like i said i pay 3000 insurance on a 1.8gti 1983, this seems much i know but some places wont even insure me on it till im 21.

any GOOD places i can go and not spend so much!?

try adrian flux insurance matey they specialise in performance cars etc

but will probably go with elephant, u should give em a try mate they mite do u a good deal, ?3000 will be a killer, ive just finished paying of my ?2700 bill for the clio valver and hated it ?222 a month thats ontop of a ?500 deposit, but then again i had a pretty quick car at 18

oh and sorry forgot to mention my quote was for sire and theft, it was just over a grand fully comp

And I was saying no way when they quoted me ?440 , finally paid ?360. Fully Comp, Dont tell me yours is 3rd party I will cry….. :cry:

I did sell a 1.1 fiesta to 17 year old and he was paying ?60 per month, I loath Insurance companies and totalty simpathise with you… you have a dream and they don't care

I use Footman James, they are good and do more thanjust classic insurance they may suprise you.

anyway wanted a golf for a long time so i did.

ps yes its not fully comp that was almost 5 thousand pound.

Get an autotrader and try the specialists for youg drivers, when i was looking direct line quoted me 700+ with 5 years no claims

and confused.com mate they usually give quite good insurance quotes

i know what you mean about havin that dream rob, i had a clio 1.4RT and was soooo fed up with all the VTR/S boys pickin on me and gangin up (we have alot of them round here) that i had to have something fast, so i bought the valver, had alot of headwork done should be running about 170BHP, but payed the insurance price was gutted coz couldnt really afford to do ANYTHING then, couldnt go out, couldnt go n see family coz of petrol, couldnt even afford food sometimes, but thought it was worth it gettin bak at those who were making my life misserable!!!!


your insurance should come down loads mate after uve been driving a year, put it this way on my valver it went from ?2700 to ?900, not the smallest of drops

Sorry to sound like your dad, but if I were you I would declare all those mods. It might cost you a bit more, but if you do have a smash and need the insurance, it would be a shame to pay 3 grand to them, only for them to say "but you didn't tell us about x and y…" and refuse to pay up…

At best you'll be 3k out of pocket, but at worst you'd be left with the other guys bill too, which could be enormous  :doh:

Another DAD comment, I'm allowed as I am  one,  Dont RACE! I had someone DECIMATE me once only to find him wrapped around a sign 200m up the road. Moral of the story… I still had a vey nice  car he had a wreck,
'Hero to zero is easy to achive' and at those insurance costs  you will be unable to insure a moped afterwards.

Drive fast, but only on a track!
