Help Please ! Agreed valuation for Mk1 golf GTi sportline

Dear mk1 Golfers,

I have recently submitted various documents/ photo''s and receipts to Adrian flux for an agreed valuation on my Mk1 Golf GTI black sportline for the value of £3,000 which i think given the condition and current market value is about right.

Unfortunately Adrian Flux have disagreed with this figure and valued mine at £2000 which is way under valued, they have asked get an independent engineer evaluation from a member of the Institute of Automotive Engineers and Assessors local to re-asses ?

I email my mate Richyhill for some advice and he mentioned that  owners club may provide this service or does anybody know someone locally in the Bristol area who can help put an accurate value on my Golf ?

Values of Sportlines are from £1k to £8k for a low mileage minter.

An average good condition 100k miler will be around £3 to £4k imo and then cars that need work from £1k to £2k, then mint low miler will be from £5k up.

Mine owes me £8-10k ish and I would not take less than £5k if I was selling and for an agreed value that I need to do, that is the figure I would be after.

The wife's Red Sportline has an agreed value of 6K on a classic policy, that is with Footman James. We got the body shop that painted it to sign and verify the valuation form.

Cheers,
