club proof

just insured my golf as a classic with adrian flux ( ?280 Fully comp, 2nd car, agreed value ?4000) and they have asked for proof of being in a car club, as i'm a member of club GTI i have quoted my members number but have also told them about our club here. How in the future can we prove this as it sounds a little more responsible to say MK1 golf owners club rather than mentioning the three letters they hate ( other than WRX  :roll:   )

Anyone got any ideas on tis?  I have just insured mine and quoted myself as being a member here but have no way of proving it.  Am i going to have to join club gti to keep my insurance company happy

When you see the minutes from the AGM you will see that this will be catered for.

Club members (i.e. who pay the membership fee, rather than just forum users) will be entitled to a whole host of benefits which will include car valuations and discounts from insurance companies, garages and anyone else we can negotiate with!

Any idea on timescales for this or is it still a bit early?  I need to send my details off to insurance company within the next 3 weeks stating a membership number.  If not I am going to have to join another club I fear

Unfortunately I think 3 weeks is a little too short for us. 1st July is 'go live' date for memberships. If you need to join a club for the insurance then do so, just don't ignore us in the future as we are already the major force for MK1 enthusiasts! :wink:

Cheers mate, I may phone my insurance up and explain it to them and see if they will wait for it.  :wink:
