Hi I'm in the same situation looking to buy a mk1 golf 1.1 and I was wondering were I can get cheaP insurance or quotes? Also can I get classic car insurance?

Your both going to have to opt for Classic with limited mileage policies I reckon, as premiums are shockingly high for young'ns at the mo!

Try Heritage, Footman James, Adrian Flux. Not sure if any of those have age limits tho tbf.

The co operative insurance - I'm 17 and pay £1600 a year after pass plus on my driver.  Fully comp and my own policy with my dad as a named driver, my cheapest quote and not too bad compared to all my mates quotes.

Only thing I can say is ring as many people as you can.

I wouldnt bother getting prices online, always better to phone and speak to a person as they will try to work out a deal to suit you and your wallet.

Check the insurers out on the links on the left hand side, plus Heritage.

You also get a discount by being a Paid Member too.

It is normally cheaper to have one of your parents on the insurance as a named driver if that helps.
