Hi mate.

This gets asked a lot and unfortunatly there isnt a 'best place to try'

Best thing to do is grab the yellow pages and start ringing different places.

Footman james & peter best are good companies.

There are people on here who have had good deals with X company yet when I contacted them they wanted thousands.

In the end I spent the day phoning round till I got the best deal.

I would personally stay away from price comparison sites, always better to speak to someone.

MIght be worth trying comparitive quotes with/without coilovers (ie standard suspension). If there's a lot of insurers who are not prepared to cover you because of them, and they were offering lower prices, you might well miss out to the tune of £400-500 or even more (guessing a bit). Are coilovers really worth that much to you?

As for the weber, you should be able to make a convincing argument that its a direct replacement for a worn out part, and doesn't actually improve performance, so its a bit mean for the insurers to decline covering you, or load the premium up, for that reason.

If its any consolation, it gets cheaper when you get older….Get your first year out the way, get yourself 1 years NCB (DON'T have an accident!!!!!) and just be patient in all the go-faster stuff, or driiving technique.

yeah the lower suspension is important to the look of my car ive tried the with or with out and there is £300 difference for the full uk license i rang direct line today and soon as i mentions the coilovers they told me they wont insure me. I will bare in mind that about the weber.
i know the premium will decrease with time. im not interested in my car going fast i just want a real retro look once i have the money to buy everything. I just wish i could use the fact ive been driving cars without help since i was about 9 :P

thank you for your advice
