mk1 How to fix top armrest clip

I was recently looking around for new clips for the upper part of my armrests, turns out they stopped making the clips and you can no longer get them, so i decided to make my own and since i couldn't find any DIYs i decided to make one.

first off I removed the door panel





I then found a washer to use that would act as my original clip, which is a 5mmx20mm washer

I then drilled a notch in the washer so that the door handle fit and would lock when rotated 





I then tack welded my washer in place, used a grinder on it, and painted it (i suck at welding), not my armrest is as good as new and stronger!
