Very high idle of revolutions

Post

Yesterday I left with the car and returning home, after about 40 minutes at 100 - 120 km / h, when I stoped the first traffic light the engine stayed at 1.400 rpm and neither hitting accelerations, nor stopping engine and even today in the morning, the car was the same.

I have cleaned the entrance where the butterflies are with a special cleaning spray and it has not worked. Then I pulled the idle screw and it seems that the board is wrong. As I didn't have a joint at that time, I reassembled it and even tightening the screw, the car is going well and I have managed to leave it at 900 rpm. Tomorrow I will buy a new board to see if the whole problem is there.

if you can remove that screw and it was finger tight, then the o-ring needs replacing.  Also going back clean the threads and use PTFE tape on the Screw threads the Yellow Gas Teflon tape works good Once wrap and it will do ya.

Replace the screw and turn it all the way in,  Then back it out about 1/2 to 3/4 turns and you should be good to go.

Oh and check all your vacuum hoses, they are the bane of dubs.  That screw if loose (finger tight spinning when you move it) is a vacuum leak as well.

New o-ring and problem solved.
Before it also went up and down revolutions and now is more stabilized.

You were right. It could be removed with the fingers, too easily. Now it gets harder.
I back it out 1/4 turn, but on the weekend I'll try it better. Now it's at 850 rpm

Thanks for your help

DX engines idle should be at 950 to 1000rpm.
850rpm is a little low and the idle control valve might be keeping the car idling….
