I’m currently restoring an 83 gti that’s been in a barn for just shy of 20 years.
I’m rebuilding the head at the moment but cannot find valve springs anywhere! If any one has a set or can point me in the right direction I’d be very grateful.
Also any other tips or advice would be great as this is my first mk1 and first time going this deep into a resto.
This is the current state…… excuse the ducting… previous tenants in my lock up were umm… keen horticulturists!
Cheers
Dom

Valve springs
Had head pressure tested, skimmed and new valves lapped in. Have valve stem oil seals just need all inner and outer springs to reassemble

Valve springs
The engine in my car is actually an EV. Which from reading on here is identical to the DX apart from a vac port on the head…..?
I have now found springs that will fit a DX so does that mean they will fit the EV head I have? I have part numbers for the springs but nothing to compare that to and cannot find that info online.
Just need to know if dx valve springs will fit an ev head basically.
Thanks
