what size

Morning folks,

Can anyone give me the internal diameter for the plastic vacuum tubing (not the rubber jointing tubing) used on an 83 Tintop GTi?
Extra credit if anyone knows where to buy it!

Thanks

Jason

There are 4 types of vacuum hose.
The hard Plastic ones that run under the dash and is white and blue. They are the same diameter as the ones under the hood that is used to connect the Vacuum res for those with a/c.

There is the white nylon tubing that runs about the engine compartment connecting the rubber hoses to things.

There is the Hard Plastic on that runs from the Brake Booster to the Throttle Body with the black and yellow check valve.

There there is the rubber vacuum hoses that run in the engine compartment.

So pictures of what you are looking for are a great thing so we can all be on the same page.

Pastic Tubes: Outside diameter is 4mm (VW part #N 020 139 1)

Rubber Hose: Inside diameter is 3mm (VW part #N 020 291 1)

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Thanks Brian,

the one I was after was the hose that comes off dizzy vacuum advance - I think similar heads through to the consumption indicator on the instrument panel.
If I know the ID I may be able to source it from somewhere other than VW - it's just a PITA for me to get to a VW garage.

I believe that would be the nr12 in this link, if it's the hard plastic one. Should be 4mm/1mm OD/ID
