Mk1 1500 cambelt cover

I've not long got a Mk1 cabrio 1500 GLS and have found that the cambelt cover appears to be rubbing the drive belt so that it's frayed the edge to the point of breaking - everything looks to be fitted correctly - I suspect the cambelt cover needs reseating (?) anyone have a similar issue? Thanks

Fit new cam cam belt and tensioner ASAP.
Is your cover the 1 peice metal type or the 2 peice metal top and plastic lower part?
I have a 1 peice metal one fitted to my 1978 scirocco and found I can't fit 1 bolt at the bottom near the back of the engine as it rubs the cambelt.
