Seats that will fit a cabrio

Post

Hi all!!
Can anyone point me in the direction of seats that will fit into my 87 cabrio without too much modification? It's a ground up restoration that hasn't run for 14 years! Got it running now but it's still a long way off so while it's being fettled I need to find interior bits and pieces! I was told that mk1 TT seats fit but I think that was for hard tops? Ideally I want original seats but finding them is proving difficult. Thanks all! 20200613_103736.jpg 20200613_102528.jpg 20200613_102524.jpg

any MK1 seat will fit with no modifications.
Some MK2 seat amd mk3 seat will fit but the rails have to be modified.

The rear seat is Strictly Cabriolet. So source one, then find a fitter that will cover it to match your fronts.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

I thought that might be the case. I've never seen seats modified to fit the back.

I've actually got front seats already but they will need recovering so if I can get some back seats I'm laughing! Feel free to message me with your where abouts etc. 😊

I got mine modified for some Audi TT fronts and like you said I'll get the back seat re trimmed to match and luckily it's in mint condition. They sit pretty nice actually.

Here's the brackets and how the look when bolted in.

Nice and easy mod is just use Corrado front seats. They go straight in and feel a lot more secure thanks standard golf seats. I've got them in mine and they're incredible.

They look really nice actually. Not too modern!

Thanks. The golf back seat has got a similar feature in it so I'm hoping when it's re trimmed it matches the fronts
