Replacement Glass for MK1 Golf GTI

I am after replacing all the glass except the front windscreen on my 1983 alpine white mk1 golf GTI. Can anyone tell me where is best to get it from ?  Also  not too sure if the glass is tinted or clear its hard to tell. Does the GTI come standard with tinted glass?

Most white cars had a green tint glass, that how it is with my Cabriolet Gti. I think it was only base cars, Golf L etc… which had clear glass.

Don't know about suppliers as only ever needed to replace my windscreen and they can be bought new.

2nd hand glass does come up for sale every now and then or try VW heritage as they might have glass?

Whats wrong with the glass you have in the car?

In the process of having the car painted and having the glass removed. As the original glass has loads of scratches on it i thought it would look miles better with fresh new glass scratch free.. Especially the back window.

If you hold a white piece of paper against the glass and look at it through the glass you should be able to see the tint to make sure of the colour.

Green tinted glass was an option on the GTI, only came as standard on the Campaign, but think it was a pretty cheap option at the time . To be honest on my Campaign it's pretty light and as mentioned on,y real way of telling is holding white paper against the inside.
