Maybe something like this, but without the huge depth?
Whip
/wip/
Noun - Car
When the steering wheel was first put into use in automobiles, it was called the whip. The term has now been generalised to classify any automobile.

Back looks like this:
I just want to have it like this:
If anything, it needs to be closer to the dash. I was thinking I could use the shorter spline adapter for that.

Surely that mk3 wheel should have a horn ring and it's missing?
You were right; they do.
I found a beat up steering wheel on eBay and persuaded the seller to send me the horn ring and screws
Next question…
I have the 45mm spline adapter:
There is also a 26mm adapter:
Would I be right in thinking the steering wheel would sit 19mm (45-26) closer to the column with the shorter one?
