Simple fuse question for an idiot....

Post

Ok so I have a micro amp to power my door speakers its 15amp rated but wanted to avoid plug and play on the existing radio fuse circuit just so I dont overload it. So I was going to feed a new power wire from the fuse box as its only 15amp didnt want to go all way back to battery plus it looks messy. Question i have is on cabby.info it shows fuse 6 and 12 as open but yet I have fuses in there????. If its open i.e. not doing anything should it have a fuse in there. Also if I tap these for a 15amp power supply is that ok to do and does open mean spare so does have power. Thanks for anyhelp.

Chances are that those two fuses go to nothing, as in my Bentley for the 90, and 91-93 both show nothing on that circuit path .

s12 is on 229 which isn't used in the 91-93, and in the 90 it goes no wheres.

s6 in the 90, and 91-93 is circuit 155 and it to goes no where.

S6 isn't tied to a power wire at all, where s12 is to the X or switched power.

So if i was installing a amp, I would want it on a switched circuit…as that would be s12.

Cheers Briano. And the fact there are fuses in there now am I to just assume they were spares?

Thanks for your advise will give the spare 12 slot a go.

Well from what I see only s12 has power to one side and s6 goes nowhere.... so I suppose that is as plausible a reason as any....Or that a previous owner saw two openings and decided that they needed fuses.
