Scirocco MK1 jacking points?

Post

Hi there, gonna try and bleed the brakes tomorrow so want to jack the car up one corner at a time.

Bit concerned that i should use the correct jacking points to avoid horror stories :)

Is there an easy way to identify them?

I heard the chassis is the same as the golf, so i suppose the jacking pointe are too?

Thanks for any tips

David

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Don't use the cills for gods sake!!!!!!! You'll end up pushing the cills up and into the car.

The VW installed jacking points are in the floor at the front. It's like a bottle top sticking down out of the floor.

If you can try and use the anti roll bar mounts (if the mk1 rocco has them).

Cabriolets are great for jacking on the cill lines as they are much stronger but if my experiences are anything to go by then jacking a hard top on the cills is a big no no!

Go easy and check all the time that nothing is crushing.

The back is easier as you can use the bottom of the shock but the front is a bit more difficult. YOu may find you need a long reach jack to get to something solid.

Good Luck
