I have posted this also in the electrics section... but I'm in a panic now waiting for the answer.
HiMk1 GTI  cabriolet 1989I have an earth from my rocker cover to the coil…that's fine. There is also a brown white wire attached to the rocker cover. my question is where does this brownwhite wire go to??I hope this will sort my lack of rev counter. I got another set of clocks thinking my problem would be solved ..but no. so please help me. Thank you

The only brown / white wire that is used as ground should be on the oxs control unit, and not to the tach.

The tach is fed off the same wire from the coil that the Fuel pump uses.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Thank you… I have been away.
Still not working….
my question now is When the battery is very low and unable to turn it over..WHY does the rev counter move up to the top as i turn the key??
Is there an engine module that feeds it?? or is it just fed from the coil?
thank you

hi Briano 1234
Is it possible for you to take a photo of the wiring diagram you have shown me here??? It is out of focus and difficult to read.
The only problem I have with my car is that damn Rev counter!
