Removing instrument panel - immobiliser.

Post

Hi Guys

I am trying to remove the instrument panel, however the immobiliser fob does not allow me to have any manouvre, i believe even if i try to remove the steering wheel it does to not give me much room or access to the Speedo/rev as i am trying to change the lightbulbs in the dash.

Please look at the picture attach - would welcome some feedback/guidance.

Thanks IMG_20170319_130622.jpg

Does the outer ring screw off?  I mean that looks like they had to install it.  I bet there is a plug on the immobiliser box

two wires,  separate the wires from each other….at the rear and clip each one Separately… One at a time….

Leave enough wire so you can use a set of insulated male/female spad connectors to reconnect them….

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Have a look for the immobiliser box above the pedals, remove the cover above the pedals to get there.

I have the same immobiliser and that's where mine is.

Ahh cool - ill have a look above the pedals and see whats out there. Is the cover easy to move?

Im really intrigued to know what model it is.

Do you know what they key is for on the siren 904?

I guess they will use the same key fob for a few different models so you will need to find the box to see which one you have.

You can disconnect the fob from the the box if you look at these links you can see it plugs into the box.

make sure you have the car battery disconnected before do any of this.

the cover above the pedals on a cabriolet has 2 plastic clips which you unclip then pull the cover down, it’s also held up by a couple of metal tabs on the bulk head.

worst case looks liek there is enough slack on the wires to allow the cowling to pivout out of the way for cluster etc removal. then for final dash removal carefully manouver the cowling to fit sideways thru the hole in the dash. once dash is out then you can get a better look at fob and wirign from it. worst case cut the wires and put 2 spades inline
