Refitting window guides

Post

My window guides (3-door tintop) were removed by the body shop for painting - I’m now trying to get them back in but struggling….

Anyone re-fitted these, and can recommend how they go back in? I’m resigned to the fact that they’re going to get scratched and will need re-painted once fitted - I just can’t figure out which way to fit them into the door without them snagging…

If it's the ones I'm thinking off - the black uprights ?

I opened the gap up between outer door skin and inner panel with a little bit of wood/doweling , and then it spring closed back up again when I removed the strip of wood.

Thanks! I did think of this but didn't think there would be room to rotate them at the bottom of the window opening
