Recommended oil for 1991 Mk1 1.8 GTI

Hi guys - can someone recommend what oil brand/spec to use in my 1.8 GTI Sportline.

10w 40 semi synthetic oil is what you want.

VW would use this stuff.

 Make sure you use a good quality oil filter, AVS sell genuine VW filters or use a MANN filter only.

I use 20W50, and add some zinc additive, STP has it in it.

Just what ever you use use a good filter.

mann
mahl
genuine VW
STP
Mobile1
Pureolator GOLD
Napa Gold

Thes do not cause the blinky oil light from hades, and has the anti-drain back to prevent it,,,,

Friends don't let Friends use Generic, Storebranded, or Bosch filters.
