Rear arch stone guard dimensions

Post

Anyone able to measure them for me please? (picture enclosed)

Hi all, Any one have the ??? dimensions in the attached image please? Just for the curious, im a cad engineer so its easy to scale images but need dimensions first, that way I can take that image to some friends of mine who are vinyl gurus and they can stop me having pesky stone chips on the arches (rather than pay £50 and get pi$$ed off trying to fit them) (( also my arches are stuck on and i need to amend that image slightly so they dont have to wrap behind, im not just been tight)) Many thanks

www.cabby-info.com has the dimensions of the stone guards.

ah the link is broken.

they are cad drawings.
http://cabby-info.com/Files/ClipperStoneGuardtemplate.pdf

So they should print out as you would need to cut them for the vinyl.

yea i have done, just that you mentioned cad file, thought i was missing something lol

Ive printed to A4 hoping its correct size.

ive cut one out and will see how it fits tonight, i then need to modify as mentioned above as i believe the original are designed to go behind arches but thats not possible as mine are stuck on with panel sealant

once done i can get them made up by buddy.

Might be worth getting a few made and sell them if they work out. esp at mk1 events, no one likes stone chips and wont be expensive to make

Hi all, sorry if this sound stupid but is that for the outside of the rear arch where it meets the skirts? Iv seen some with protective clear stickers on them, I'm assuming it's for stone chips? Is this a common area  for stone chips? It's my 1st golf and it's been painted so I'm wondering if it's worth me getting some to protect the new paint?

Cheers Gaz

Yes and Yes…
Even then I would look at "mud flaps" behind the wheels to help even more.

Are mud flaps a must? I think they're ugly as

No but they held disperse the road rash… and they can look good.

I had a look round on google images last night and can't find a single set that I like the look of. Suppose I won't like the look at chipped arches either

think chortle has a stock of these trim/stickers.. I know i have 1 set.. As for looks im afraid OEM was boring dots.... im sure if someone is going to make a set they can choose what print they want on them.. maybe stickerbomb for the boy/girl racers out there. the tabs are there to help keep the paint from been damged by the side skirts/trim. as these flex... touching the paint. But understand the issue, i dont want to keep removing trims to fit stone gaurds.

I'm happy with just clear stickers for the protection. If those dimensions were right printed on an a4 sheet I'll get my mate to cut me some from clear vinyl, good to know about the tabs to protect when the car flexes tho cheers for that. It's mud flaps I don't like the look of, they only suit rally cars 😂

You must be running some power to get stones that high..  I've had v5 powered tintop and stones barely reach rears.. the trim is more because clipper/big bumper kit however called comes out a bit farther. And yes mudflaps look wrong on cabbies. My green clipper has a darker vinyl and textured feel  I'll take pics later

Hahahahaha no defiantly not running big power. Mines a gti but is currently running at the grand total of 0hp as it doesn't run 😂 it'll be enough for having a whip about in tho that's all I want. So you have the protective stickers on your arches? Pics would be great thanks. I wonder why they are textured?
