I have a mk1 gti and the door locks from the outside fine however the pulled on the inside is missing

I have removed all the door card but can’t seem to see anything or feel anything does any know if it is a case of buying and screwing a puller in or is there something missing

The pull on the inside is missing?  You mean the rod that runs up to the pull is missing?

That would be number 9 or the rod 11

Ah that’s great drawing I’m missing 12 and can’t feel 11 or 9 in there anywhere, it’s difficult to see in there don’t suppose you would know where to buy them parts

Not over seas, vwheritage, or werks34.  If the poll knob is the bit you are after then the rod can drop down out of sight, it is there…. It is hard to see and some times it will relocate behind the rail….

They are usually Pocket Free at a Breakers…. then going to the Breakers is a good way to find out how to disassemble as you can break theirs getting it out so you don't break yours.

Try mark Carter at classic VW.co.uk, or VW heritage for those parts. They do/did stock recently... I know I need item 9, just not in rush.. sure door opens when pull inner lever just not locks from inside.

Your picture has me thunking, that once when I was swapping a 89 door on my 93 when I took the latch out that whole shooting match fell in to the bottom of the door, which may be where it is residing... To really check you need a good torch, and a mirror to look in all the crannies.
