Does it flash at idle only or when you are driving down the road?
I have one fitted to the side of the head as they normally are, but I also have another on the oil filter flange.
BTW All Cabriolets are Karmann Editions, as Karmann is where they were built from the ground up.
as in Ghia was the designer, and Karmann was the assembly plant hence Karmann Ghia.

I noticed the light flashing 3 or 4 times when I was driving yesterday.
Then when I got back to my house it was still doing it at stand still it's not constant just every minute or so flashes 3 or 4 times I waited for the engine to cool checked my oil and everything is fine and I never had this before the sender changed

Hi mate this is what worked for me after speaking with rubjonny on the site the problem was coming from my new sender with twin pole so all I have done is use a Tpeice put old one back in and the new one on other end seems to have sorted it so original wire is going to original sender for light then new wire going to guage sender I've had all my reading checked and they are spot on
Hope this helps
Thanks mate, it put the fear of god into me the other day when I was travelling down the M1 at 65 and it starts flashing away! Will get my electrically minded mechanic guy to do what you said…I'm only good and cleaning it and driving it haha!

I was told.by mine as long as the pressure is OK on the guage from cold start to running warm /hot then there shouldn't be a problem he seemed to think that the guage was more of a true reading than a red light as long as your oil is OK and topped up did it flash before you fitted sender mine didn't
I bought the car with the VDO fitted and and it started doing it the other day.. I hadn't noticed it before but car has stood for a while so not sure, got my guy on it anyway so I'll let you know if what your said resolves it, fingers crossed. Gonna do an oil pressure test i think to put my mind at rest!
