OEM GTI springss

Post

The rear end of my 79 GTI is sagging a bit so im looking at replacing the springs. It's stock hight (or should be,) but the rear seems to be softer and slightly lower than the front end.  On VW Heritage they seem to list the same rear spings for all MK1's is this right? If not so, who makes the best standard hight springs to replace them?

Thanks in advance

Dan

The springs are rated for weight, they are also color coded with dots.

From the ETKA

531511105A original part number.
531511105A 952 2 yellow paint marks
531511105A 953 3 yellow paint marks.

The regular golfs have different part numbers on them.
The Cabriolets have the same part numbers listed, but also include a heavy duty.
161511105A violet paint marks.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Thanks for the info Briano.

Looks like there was just one spring design for tintops and they changed the colur codes for different runs.

So has anyone had experiance of the Heritage ones? Or are there altetnative options availible anywhere. I had a dig around on the internet but can't seem to find an alternative in the UK.
