Mk1 Gti Cold Start injector

Hi,

Having a problem with Mk1 GTi (EG engine code)
Very slow/difficult to start when cold.
When warm - no problem

Have checked the cold start injector and find as follows.

11v to red/black wire when engine cranking
Earth wire ok
High pressure fuel to the injector.
Removed the injector, placed in jar and cranked engine - no fuel from injector

Am I correct in thinking that the cold start injector is faulty and should be replaced?

Cannot think of anything else to try.

Any advice very much appreciated

If there's no fuel from the 5th injector, then that could be the issue… it may also be the WUR, Warm Up Regulator - this is a big player in the CIS system… you can check the power to this, it may be fine, that doesn't necessarily means it working ok at all… it may be a case of stripping it, cleaning it was injection cleaner/spray, checking it's extremely clean - no bits in it at all. The rubber seal being brittle which probably needs renewing too. You can by a kit for about £40-£45…
