the red mark is the BTDC diamond you use for ignition timing. the TDC mark is a smaller punch mark. the big square thing is only for use with specialist VW timign equipment so ignore that.

What figure the diamond is on your flywheel depends on what car it came from, carb its 18 degree, injection its 6 degree

other thign to note is since its a pug dizzy the factory marks may not be any use at all anyway

If I set it up to diamond  runs like bag hammers
If I move it forward to we're I've seen someone says to time up to runs lot better   Just flat spot 3/4 k rpm
But takes off like rocket once passes point
The mixers all ok as just being set up plugs running nice brown colour.
As I says back to basic with Peugeot 205 dizzy

like i say 2 things to consider:
1. where is your diamond, 6 or 18 degrees?
2. does it even matter, as neither may be any use anyway with pug dizzy as its off a completely different engine

basically all you can do with these things is add advance and drive it, see how it goes. tweak fueling if need be, and back off if it starts to pink.

then take it to a pro for a full tuneup on a rolling road or preferably out on the road
