What years?

Does anyone know what years this hood cover fits at all please?   I'm thinking it's not the early or later ones but if anyone knows for sure I'd be grateful

what makes you think its different? the presstuds on front edge? they could have been added at any point. The ones i have tend to fit all my cars and they or from e plate to j, with and without electric roof. they come with plastic corner pieces.

I have one with the middle press studs on my 81 cabriolet. Another hood cover I have has rear metal pieces that fit into two tabs on either side of the hood at the rear.

Thanks both.   Now I think about it I'm sure my old 1980 cabby had a metal strip on parcel shelf that the hood popper into so it might be an early roof version that sat a bit higher

What was the difference between the second and third generation hoods?

about 4 inches higher or more on the 80-82's the later 83-93 sat lower for better backward vis.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Thanks mate.  So in theory (as Kenneth says) 83-93 you should be able to use the same hood cover?  It's just the -82 one that is different?

There's extra bits of elastic on the ones for the later hoods. The popper they go into stop the electric hood from working when the cover is on.

In theory the early hood covers will fit the later cars but they end up a bit baggy due to the reduced size of the hood when folded and you can try to put the electric hood up with it on as there's no circuit cut out on them.
