Gti valvetrain

Hab a good gti Head…373f but no valve train.From vagcat looks like I could use camshaft and solid tappets from 1.6 gti engine I have and springs plus valves etc from dx head from 1989 cabrio gti. Can anyone  confirm or advise please
 

The 89 is probably a Hydraulic head that doesn't use shims so be wary of parts other than the valves.

Personally the guy that invented the Hydraulic lifter should of been given the Nobel Prize for Engineering.

He has made life a lot easier for us.  This is coming form a guy with lots of British Leyland experience and adjusting valves was a 13-18 yr-old first right of passage and done usually once a month or so.  While most fellows I was friends with were looking at ballgames, girls and such.  I was under the bonnet wrenching.
