Getting started

Hi I was wondering if anyone could give advice I've done a nut and bolt restoration on a gti sportline mk1
I've not been able to get it running on it's own unless I manually lift the disc in the air box
It's all new or refurbished parts any help or advice

could be anything!

when you say it won't start unless you lift it do you mean it won't turn over at all or it won't idle/rev correctly?

what else have you tried to track it down to that? have you set all other fueling and air mix correctly?

I think people will need a lot more info to diagnose.
