No HP feed
Following some helpful suggestions (bridging out the relay etc) on here I connected the HP pump direct to the battery - it runs fine. I then intercepted the pump feed wires in the passenger side floor and cut them. Feeding the pump side of the 2 cut wire ends from the battery using fly leads - no pump. In conclusion, I think there must be a bad connection in one of the 2 cables to the pump. Tomorrow I'll run a new pair of wires to the pump. For reference there are 2 pairs of wires for the 2 fuel pumps - a red/yellow and a brown for the in tank pump and a thicker pair of the same 2 colour codes for the HP pump. Watch this space….
Further testing has revealed that the pump itself is intermittent! Sometimes when connected directly to 12Volts it runs (very noisily) but most times it's dead. This will teach me to buy cheap stuff on EBay!

Fuel pumps do go bad, but fuel pump relays are iffier.
You can either use a couple of spad crimp connectors and a hunk of wire or you can use the Horn Relay as a test.
