Size of fuel like needed??

Hi all.. Needing to change the fuel hose on my Mk1 Jetta fitted with a EZ 1.6 8V engine out of a mk2 driver.. Running a Weber 32/34.
The last owner made a hash up of everything so i'm just renewing parts and making sure everthing is as it should be.. it runs like a bag of nails at the mo.. Question is what size rubber hoses should i have fitted on the feed, return, pump to Swerl pot & carb feed from S pot
or
does it even mattter??

At the mo its got a mix of 6.3mm feed, 5.6mm return, 4.8mm pump to pot & 5.6mm to the carb.

Just replaced the Fuel pump, swerl pot & a nice new inline glass filter.

Still need to add the missing carb heater, link up the hedgehog heater, fit the banked off vac pipes & fit correct jets.. then set the carb up.

Would have thought the 5.6mm/ 6mm would be fine all the way..  I've changed a fair bit of hose and made no noticable difference but that's on injection model not carbs

I have a Weber fitted to my Mk2 Golf and the vac line is now silicone. I've also placed a welding tip in the fuel return pipe. I have a plastic in line fuel filter which used to run under the air filter by the cam cover. Having spoken to a mechanic recently the main fuel delivery pipe now runs behind the o/s headlight and then into the fuel pump, filter in line. I secured it using one of the wiring zip tie clips that run along the bulkhead. The idea behind it is that it is cooler and not drawing engine heat. Seems to be okay for me. I've also fitted a sports air filter (JR ) which has also made a difference.
There used to be a two part air intake  shroud that sits behind the o/s headlight. There's not a lot of information about it but i am waiting for a part to arrive and will see whereabouts it fits and if it makes any difference.
