Front pads - 256mm Audi set-up

Post

Afternoon all,

I've got a set of Audi 90 5-cylinder calipers and carrier to go on my GTi - all refurbed with new seals, however, I've yet to buy discs and pads.
I know I need mk2 16v 256 vented discs - but which pads? Audi, or 16v items? If anyone has a part number that would greatly help!
Looking at the online diagrams on 7zap, the only 16v 256mm brakes seem to have completely different pads and calipers…

TIA!

Jason

mk2 16v discs and pads :)

tbh audi pads probably fit as well, I imagine they're the same? but easier to source mk2 stuff

Okay, So I got a bargain, but the pads turned out to be wrong. That'll teach me to buy stuff before I'm ready to fit them!
These are the ones I bought:

but the ones I need just have a 'top' lip - if that makes sense.
Anyone running Girling 54 calipers shed any light on it. And if anyone wants to make me an offer on this set of unused pads - feel free!

Thanks

Jason

those are 239mm GTI 8v type, also used on the 16v up to 1988. You need hte post 88 256mm type so need to be wary of that!

321615301D or 6N0615301D for the brake discs, 357698151A,E or JZW698151F for the pads.

ETKA tells me 1HM698151A which are listed as a replacement for the 357 part numbers dont fit pre-90 calipers so watch out for that as well!
