Exhaust heat shields

Post

Just fitted up a new standard exhaust on my Campaign resto.

Other than the heat shields around the down pipe near the steering rack, around the gear selector boot, and the one bridging the hand brake cable tubes …,,

Are there any more supposed to be on the car - all very close to my newly sprayed underseal 😬🤔😬 🔥

should be one between fuel tank and exhaust or is that the handbrake cable one you mention?

Sorry,  yes there is the tank protector plate too

Just seems a bit light of shields at the front where it's hottest 🤔

Guess I could put aftermarket shield/stick on heat matting but that would make it a bit unoriginal

On the original dubs they had a wrap-around shield on the vw dual down pipe.

On my TT-Tuning I used sheet aluminum and then had 2 long bolts boliting it together with fender washers.

I used a piece of sheet aluminum to protect the power steering rack. and for that I tie-wrapped it in place with Stainless Steel Ties.

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

As long has you the factory stuff you should be OK, esp the down pipe one. My DX has the one in Brianos pic near teh light-blue highlighted "back to top"
