Removing ecu

I am trying to remove my Ecu in order to clean up the accumulated crud build up beneath it. It seems to be mounted on a angled plate bolted with two bolts (which I have removed) to the rear engine compartment bulkhead with a strap underneath which is not accessible. The box is mounted with two screws at the top (which I have removed) and seemingly another inaccessible at the bottom. Anyone have any suggestions as to how this can be removed. The crud built up beneath is enough to completely flood the space in a good shower of rain and I don’t want the ecu to get damaged, and I want it to drain down normally anyway. The drains on both sides are all clear.

Any suggestion very welcome.         Paul.

Take the wire off the bracket that holds the ecu to the frame.

Remove the connector off the ecu
Remove the 2 screws that hold the bracket at the top.
Remove the connector of the ICM.
The bracket is on a slide fit at the bottom so scoot it off the slide holder.

Now clean your rain drain at the strut tower, and all the crud.

Many thanks for the very prompt answer. Problem at bedtime, sorted by breakfast.
I have followed your instructions and it slides off the lower mounting towards the front of car.
Unbelievable amount of mud, leaves, and general rubbish solidified under the ecu. I have always kept the two drains clear so was amazed at how much rubbish was there.
Many thanks again for the information.

Paul.
