I would suggest that you take a look at the back side and if there are any cracks, or missing chunks clean gently with alcohol.
Use the Nylon Woven Window Screen, or Nylon wove drywall tape and lay over the crack. The Drywall tape is self sticky.
Apply a quick wipe from a wet rag, and then smear Gorilla Glue over the tape and spread it to cover the tape. It will expand so wipe any off. Allow it to cure about 2 hours and sand smooth.
The molding usually cracks and the cracks spread to the front…..Filling and stabilizing them takes care of that.
I have on occasion used 3m Weater stripe double sided red tape to assist in sticking them I do a run at the top round of the door and above the door card.
But originally they were just held in place by the door card, and the window seals.
ps, you know there is supposed to be a black cap over that big hole at the rear and a grommet for the door latch knob.

One removed clean up and apply a layer of HTC adhesive.
High Temp contact adhesive is needed don''t use evostick.
Align and press firmly down.
I used a pair of clamps and a spirit level to equal the pressure out and to hold firmly in place.
once glue has set refit what you took off.
