Door Seals

Hi guys my newly acquired Gti has new door seals but obviously installed by someone lacking the ability to do so, as a result the drivers one is hanging off all the way round. They look to have been glued using carpet adhesive!!!!
How should they be attached? I'm assuming they are glued but what product should be used?

Use contact adhesive.

Probably what the last guy did but you do need to use it as described on the tin or it will fail, basically thin coat both surfaces and allow enough time before application, and it's a one chance thing, you can't slide it or pull off and re-position.

Not sure if tin tops are the same but on my cabriolet there is a couple of plastic clips which fit into a hole in the seal and hold the seal at the leading edge of the door?
