Correct glass etching

Post

Hi all,
Can anyone confirm which is the correct glass etching out of these two, I'm leaning toward the one on the right.
I'm looking for a passenger front qtr to match, thanks in advance. 20200222_112337.jpg

I have seen both... and iirc the Sekurite was what was originally on my 81 (Westy) Rabbit... I suspect that you should go with what your others say.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Thanks, these came from my '83
Will check the rest of the panels are a match.

Mk1s were in front line use throughtout the car crime ridden 80s and 90s so loads will have had door and quarter light glass replaced over the years due to break-ins. On my GTI both doors had broken glass still rattling around inside….

If you take into account MOT failed windcreens there won't be many MK1s left with totally original factory glass.

1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Point of fact, if you have bb's of glass in your inner door frame, you need to clean it out.  They can cause blockage of the Skin Pucker Drain that allows water that moves past the window scraper to drain out of the inner door causing it not to rust form the inside out.  Also the glass can eat away the waxoil (we call it cosmoline over here) that they used at the factory.).

Good point, I never thought of all the GTI's that were nicked.
My car has been stripped to bare shell for a respray, safe to say no glass bits will be left in the door panels.
Generally consensus is that the Sekurit is the most likely original glass in my '83.

Thanks all, if anyone has green tint glass with the Sekurit etch, I'd love to hear from you. Tia.
