Brown Windows winders!!!

Hi all. I'm desperately looking for a set(2) of windows winder for mk1 (or mk2 in whorst case)

Good luck,  I tried for a couple of years to find them with no joy.

It may be worth checking if polo or beetle/T25 ones will fit

Really hard to find these days pal. The 'cream & brown' period around 2008 used a lot of the stock so very few left now. 

I missed original winder and set of 4 from mk2 couple months ago on ebay. I couldn't decide……so now i know…..should take both.

2 hints.
Try to find a Chrome set off a 80 rabbit/golf LS.  I had chrome on my 81. Color don't matter on the insert as you can pop it out and Spray it the color of your choice with Vinyl Dye in a can.

Get a set of black replacements Tape the Knob off, and Spray the Arms the color of your choice with "krylon fusion paint".  when  dry add 2 coats of krylon fusion satin clear… should be good to go for a few years.

I had a similar issue with a 85 Cabriolet I was repairing.
one of the map pockets was butsicated beyond repair.

So I took both off, I had a good replacement but black, and sprayed them with Krylon Fusion paint and over coated with satin and they came out a pretty close match…. Doing both sides so you wouldn't miss the color differences.

The 2 coats of addition Sating clear will add durability to the paint so it stays on longer….. and won't rub away.
