Back box snapped off while driving
Sounded like a tank all the way home .I've ordered a stainless steel one to match the stainless steel manifold. My question is…is it possible to fit the new exhaust at home just with Jack's and axle stands ? Or has it got to be on a ramp at a garage ?
Cheers in advance Dean

Should be able to do it…just will involve a lot of huff and puff and foul language as you try to get it something right.

Yes but only if you can get the car high enough, it needs to be swung in at an angle and you need the space to do that.

Agree, if the SS is same design as the original spec you need to get the rear quite high to get the middle section up and over the rear axle. I've done it at home on the drive with ramps and axle stands. Extra pair of hands is always helpfull.

The entertainment at the other end is with the C-clips or studs (assuming a later Cabrio but with 3rd party fanimold could be either). C-clips easy to ping off but not so easy to put back and studs have a habit of shearing off…

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Can you remember the days when dads and grandparents dug a small pit in garage . Very few do this now..but I'm gonna do in my home garage..

But for now I find being friends at garage with 2 and 4 poster helps. A nice box biscuits few beers and chit chat helps at times.

Back box snapped off

Thanks guys for the honest advice. I think I'm gonna let the garage handle it, the mot is due on the 25th so might just tie it in with that .
Just a quick question. How many exhaust hangers are there on the underside?? if I want to replace them all .as the ones on the back box look shot. So want to replace them all
Thankyou
